dinosaur footprints
In the late 1970s, a quarry operation in northern Virginia dug into the well-preserved layers of a Triassic (208 million years) lakeshore. In several areas the ancient sediments revealed well-preserved footprints of bipedal dinosaurs. PMG explored the site in 1980 and revisited the region in the early 90s when new layers were uncovered.
